Getting Started & Pricing
How much does product photography cost?
Pixol pricing is transparent and all-inclusive — the price you see in our Pricing Estimator is the price you pay. No subscriptions, no setup fees, no surprise charges. Standard product photography starts at $35 per image, with complex items like watches at $60 per image. Every photo includes professional shooting, high-end retouching, and background processing. Your final quote is confirmed before any work begins.
What is the minimum order?
Our standard minimum project value is $300, which typically covers 5–10 product images depending on complexity. Have a smaller project in mind? Submit a request through our Pricing Estimator — we review every inquiry and are happy to discuss options for smaller orders.
What's included in the price?
Every Pixol image includes professional shooting plus two layers of post-production: standard processing (pure white or custom background, dust removal, color correction, cropping) and high-end retouching (surface enhancement, reflection refinement, final polish). Unlike studios that charge separately for editing or background removal, Pixol bundles everything into a single per-image rate. Every photo is marketplace-ready — no additional editing needed.
When and how do I pay?
Pixol works on a review-first payment model. We complete your shoot and retouching, then deliver watermarked previews for your review. Once you approve the results, we send an invoice — and only then do you pay. Payment options include credit card and PayPal.
Do you offer custom pricing for larger projects?
Every project at Pixol is priced based on its scope — product category, complexity, quantity, and timeline. Our Pricing Estimator gives you an instant estimate for standard orders. For larger projects (100+ images, ongoing partnerships, or catalog-scale shoots), we provide custom quotes tailored to your specific needs.
Shipping & Product Handling
How do I send my products to Pixol?
Once you place your order, our team assigns the studio best suited for your project and sends you a confirmation email with the exact shipping address and packing instructions. Ship your products using any major US carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL) and share the tracking number with us.
Can I drop off products instead of shipping?
Yes — local drop-off is available at our Brooklyn, NY and Austin, TX studios. Many of our New York clients use courier services like Uber delivery for same-day drop-off. In-person and courier drop-offs are welcome — just coordinate the date and time with our team after placing your order.
Can I ship products from anywhere?
Yes — Pixol works with clients across all 50 US states and internationally. We work with clients shipping from Israel, Canada, Europe, and beyond. As long as the package reaches our studio, we handle the rest.
How do I get my products back after the shoot?
Once your photos are approved, provide a prepaid return shipping label and we'll dispatch your products promptly. Pixol handles all packaging with care. If you prefer, we can arrange return shipping on your behalf at cost. Products not claimed within 30 days of project completion will be donated to charity.
What if my product is fragile or high-value?
Pixol regularly works with high-value jewelry, delicate cosmetics, luxury accessories, and fragile electronics. We recommend insuring your shipment for its full value. Once products arrive at our studio, they're stored securely and handled with care throughout the entire process. For clients who prefer their products never leave their premises, we offer on-location photography.
Timeline & Process
How long does a typical project take?
Standard turnaround is 3–5 business days from the day we receive your products. Timing depends on project size and complexity — a 10-SKU jewelry shoot is typically faster than a 100-SKU apparel catalog. For larger projects, we provide a custom timeline during the quote process.
Do you offer rush or expedited turnaround?
Yes. Pixol offers rush delivery with a 1–3 business day turnaround for an additional $15 per image. Rush availability depends on current studio capacity and your project scope — mention your deadline when requesting a quote and we'll confirm options.
What happens after I request a quote?
Here's how it works: use our online Pricing Estimator or email your brief, receive a detailed quote within hours, ship your products, we photograph and retouch (3–5 business days), review watermarked previews and approve, pay your invoice and receive final files. Most clients go from quote to final delivery in under a week.
How do I track my project?
Pixol keeps you informed at every stage. After your products arrive, you'll receive status updates via email as your project moves through shooting, retouching, and final review. You'll preview watermarked images before approving, and receive final files once payment is complete.
Can I attend or observe the photoshoot?
Pixol studios operate as closed production environments to maintain consistent lighting, climate control, and workflow efficiency. This is how we deliver the quality and turnaround our clients expect. If hands-on involvement is important for your project, we offer on-location shoots at your office or showroom.
Photography & Services
What types of product content does Pixol offer?
Pixol provides white background photography, lifestyle and styled shots, AI-generated lifestyle images (your real product placed into realistic scenes), ghost mannequin photography, flat lay compositions, 360-degree product video, product video clips, and professional image retouching. Whether you need clean marketplace shots or scroll-stopping social media content, we deliver production-ready files.
Do you photograph jewelry and reflective items?
Jewelry is one of Pixol's core specialties. We use specialized macro lenses and anti-reflection lighting setups designed for watches, rings, necklaces, earrings, and gemstones. Reflective and transparent materials — glass perfume bottles, polished metal, glossy packaging — require precise lighting control that our studio is built for.
Do you offer ghost mannequin photography?
Yes. Our ghost mannequin (invisible mannequin) service gives your apparel a three-dimensional, worn look without a visible model or form. This technique works for t-shirts, dresses, jackets, pants, and outerwear. We also offer flat lay and on-model alternatives.
Do you offer additional services beyond standard photography?
Yes — Pixol handles standalone retouching, AI lifestyle image generation, custom compositions, and more. Email us at info@pixol.ai with your project details. We review every inquiry individually.
Deliverables & Quality
What file formats and resolutions do you deliver?
Pixol delivers high-resolution JPEG files at 300 DPI with dimensions of 3000×3000 pixels — sharp enough for both e-commerce and print. PNG files with transparent backgrounds are available on request. Need a different format, resolution, or aspect ratio? Let us know — custom specs are included at no extra charge.
Are your photos marketplace-compliant?
Yes. Pixol images meet the technical requirements for all major e-commerce platforms including Amazon (pure white #FFFFFF background, sRGB color, minimum 1000px), Shopify, Walmart Marketplace, eBay, Etsy, and Macy's. Include your platform's guidelines in your brief and we'll match every spec.
Can I request revisions?
Absolutely. If anything doesn't match your original brief — wrong angle, color issue, or a detail we missed — we'll fix it at no cost. We typically work through 2–3 rounds of revisions. If your creative direction evolves after the shoot, we'll provide a quick quote for the additional work. Our goal: you should love every image.
Who owns the photos? Can I use them however I want?
After full payment, you receive a royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use your Pixol images across all channels — e-commerce listings, social media, print advertising, packaging, and marketing materials. No additional royalties or fees apply. You may not resell the images as standalone products (e.g., stock photography) or sublicense them to third parties. Pixol retains the right to feature selected images in our portfolio and marketing materials unless you request otherwise in writing before your project begins. For complete terms, see our Terms of Service.
What if I'm not satisfied with the results?
Pixol is committed to delivering images that meet your project specifications. If any photo doesn't match the agreed brief, we'll correct it at no charge. For reshoots requested due to changes in creative direction after delivery, a new quote will be provided. Our revision process is designed to be transparent and efficient.
